Great Warhol Polaroids of ’70s icons…

reblog saturday! I tend to think celeb portraits kinda suck. ESPECIALLY the stark white or black background ring light chin out slight wide angle blah blah blah. Then you see Warhols very imperfect polaroid portraits and they are just awesome. Wicked witch for the win.  Dennis Hopper for the cool. And a tie with Jane Fonda & Dolly Parton for the hair.

Polaroids by Andy Warhol

(From Left to Right, Top to Bottom) Teddy Kennedy, Liza Minnelli, Mick Jagger, Jane Fonda, Diana Ross, Dennis Hopper, John Lennon & Yoko Ono, Farrah Fawcett, Alfred Hitchcock, Dolly Parton, Truman Capote, Margaret Hamilton

i love these photos. he shot all of these with the polaroid big shot camera. with it’s fixed focal length 220 mm ƒ22 lens magicubes were necessary. the color & detail with the bigshot are unmatched. hmmmm. i got one of these & a couple packs of film in the fridge. who wants to shoot?
